We’re excited to share some big legal news from the world of brand protection and intellectual property enforcement.
Otter Products, the company behind the popular OtterBox line of smartphone and tablet cases, has just won a major victory in federal court. On July 29, 2025, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York granted Otter Products a default judgment in its lawsuit against 4PX Express USA Inc., a logistics company accused of helping distribute counterfeit OtterBox goods.
The court awarded Otter Products:
-
$875,000 in statutory damages
-
A permanent injunction barring 4PX from further trademark infringement
During the course of the case, the defendant stopped participating as the end was near and it had no defense. This outcome reinforces how seriously courts take trademark violations—and why companies must stay vigilant in protecting their brand. By pursuing counterfeiters and holding them accountable, Otter continues to defend both its brand and the people who trust it.
The case is now officially closed, but the message is clear: selling or facilitating the sale of counterfeit goods comes with serious consequences.
